High Performing Introverts Create And Manage Their Energy!
Feb 27, 2022Whether it's social engagements, focused work, presence in relationships, High Performing Introverts know how to create the energy they need to serve with excellence and zest and how to use their energy in a way that keeps them positive and energized.
When HPIs master their energy, they become unstoppable forces of creativity and productivity. Think Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, a pair of introverts that created one of the biggest consumer technology companies now in the world. One used their ability to focus and notice to see how personal computers could change everything and effectively communicate that vision. The other used his focus to engineer and create the best home-brew computer that allowed others to play in the space.
When introverts don't manage their energy correctly, they tend to get stuck in their head, overwhelmed, exhausted, or feel miserable because they are spending energy more than they get back. The opportunity cost of going out three nights in a row is not replenishing yourself enough to feel vibrant and alive at work or with personal relationships.
So how do you take care of your energy, introvert or not?
- Use your well-spring habits each day to create energy, preferably in the morning.
- Review your to-do list and use DABS (Delegate, Add, Batch, Subtract)
- Meditate, Exercise, Diet, Sleep
- Block-time for focus
- Communicate your communication hierarchy
These strategies all can help you create the energy you need, protect that energy, and use that energy in the most impactful way!
